Three of Ifield’s Labour councillors (left to right: Peter Smith, Sue Mullins, John Stanley) were out on the Ifield parade today talking about the local issues with residents. Many people, even some of those that are Tory voters, were upset to learn of the Tory county council’s plans to remove a fire engine and ten retained fire-fighters from Crawley. How can this be right when we are the largest town in West Sussex with an international airport in our boundary? Many people signed our petition. You can find out all of the details and sign the petition on-line here Stop the Fire Service Cuts in Crawley
Other issues raised when talking to residents included speeding on Warren Drive and Ifield Drive (Talk Ifield are starting a speeding campaign – Talk Ifield). Potholes – we are working with the County Councils highways department to get something done and parking. We have a further parking scheme coming forward in Ifield Drive following the successful schemes in Hardham Close and Kirdford Close. We have got Findon Road on the list as well.
