The Labour administration’s Town Centre Regeneration Programme received a big boost this week, with the announcement that the Arora Group are to redevelop Overline House by building a new Station, apartments and business area with associated parking, and improvements to the public realm in Station Way and the bus station in Friary Way.
Comments are welcome from all residents using the questionnaire on the TCRP site. (Select the menu option ‘Town Centre Regeneration’, then ‘Station Gateway’. On this page you can see details of the proposal by clicking the links to the ‘pdf’s’.)
Cllr Peter Smith, Cabinet member for Planning and Economic Development said: “We have been working hard to get some improvements to the Town Centre since the moment that we took control of the Council in June 2014. We have already made good progress with items like the market and now this is the first significant redevelopment coming forward. We continue to work to return the Town Centre to its former glory and there will be further announcements very soon.”
Labour’s action in the Town Centre is starting to bring results – there is more to come so, ‘watch this space’ as they say!
All proposals for regenerating the Town Centre are subject to planning permission which will be considered by Crawley Borough Council’s Development Control Committee later in 2016.
