The elections on 6 May are a choice between Keir Starmer’s Labour Party, which will build a stronger, more secure and prosperous recovery for Britain out of the pandemic, or a Conservative Party that is cutting nurses’ pay, cutting spending on the NHS and raising taxes on families. The Tories will take us back to the same insecure society that left us with the worst death toll in Europe and the worst economic crisis of any major economy.
Under Keir Starmer’s leadership, Labour will make Britain stronger out of the pandemic by backing British business to create the next generation of high skilled jobs, rewarding our NHS staff and key workers with a pay rise, cutting hospital waiting lists for patients, putting thousands more police back on our streets to keep us safe and restoring pride in our high streets.
The Conservatives are offering more of the same: more cronyism, more incompetence and more cuts to the local services we all need. The Conservatives want to go back to business as usual and the same old insecure society that’s been so cruelly exposed by the pandemic.
A vote for Labour is a vote for a pay-rise for our nurses. It’s a vote to build Britain’s future by investing in growing Britain’s businesses and local communities. A vote for Labour is a vote to secure our economy, protect our NHS and rebuild our country.
Keir Starmer came down to meet Cllr Peter Lamb in Crawley as part of our campaign launch. In Crawley we have a range of policies designed to help Crawley recover from the Covid-19 pandemic and to get people back into work. More details will be made available in the next few weeks.
