Crawley’s already award-winning Queens Square regeneration project has been shortlisted for another award – this time the Chartered Institute for Highways & Transportation (CIHT) Awards 2019 in the ‘Creating Better Places’ category.

Crawley Borough Council’s former civil engineering partner, Watermans, who were involved in the procurement management and scheme delivery entered the scheme on behalf of Crawley Borough Council.

The winners are to be announced in London on 13 June.

Labour councillor Peter Smith, Cabinet member for Planning and Economic development said: ‘We wanted only the best for Crawley residents and businesses in the Queens Square regeneration. The best test of our success is that both residents, visitors and businesses overwhelmingly like the scheme that we have delivered. This nomination for a further award by industry professionals confirms this success – let’s hope that Crawley wins the award!’
