Candidate May 2021 Three Bridges and Pound Hill South (LKA)
Linda has been a proud Labour Party member for more than 30 years. She has undertaken many roles during that time, including Parliamentary Candidate for the Mid Sussex Constituency in 1992, and Borough Councillor for Tower Hamlets between 1994 and 1998.
She now welcomes the opportunity to stand as the Labour Party candidate for Three Bridges and Pound Hill South in the West Sussex County Council elections next May. With the drastic impact of the pandemic on the health and employment of many local residents, there has never been a more important time to join the fight for a strong recovery and a better future.
With a degree in economics from Cambridge University, Linda is a former national trade union negotiator in the banking industry, leading on pay, restructuring, pensions, and employee benefits. She then spent 12 years in the private sector first with BAA (the British Airports Authority) as part of the Employee Relations (ER) team – including a spell as interim ER Manager at Heathrow Airport. This was followed by seven years as Industrial Relations Manager with Accenture – the multinational management consultancy, technology services and outsourcing company. Linda was responsible for Accenture’s multiple union relationships and ran their UK and European Works Councils.
Linda is now an Executive Council trustee member of the Industrial Participation Association (IPA), along with the London School of Osteopathy (LSO). She is also on the Panel of Arbitrators for ACAS.
