Talk Ifield meeting
Talk Ifield meeting

A well attended Talk Ifield meeting took place on 22nd January 2020 in the Elim Church to discuss the Homes England proposal to build 10,000 houses West of Ifield. The meeting heard from Crawley Borough Councillors Cllr Peter Smith and Cllr Jilly Hart as well as West Sussex County Councillor Cllr Chris Oxlade who introduced the planning implications of the proposals as well as some of the issues that the local community and residents are concerned about. Jenny Frost from Ifield Village Conservation Advisory Committee also presented an interesting reminder of the rich environmental nature of the proposed site accompanied by many pictures of the area. This was followed with a discussion and questions from the residents present.

The Talk Ifield meeting followed a series of ‘Exhibitions’ promoted by Homes England. Many attendees had been to one or more of the exhibitions but had come away with little further information than that which had already been shared on the Homes England flyers and were frustrated at the inability of Homes England to provide answers on even some of the key questions.

Talk Ifield are arranged for their next meeting for Homes England to come along themselves and present their plans. Details will be published on this page as soon as they are available.
