Homes England have published another of their ‘Updates’ – this time entitled ‘Infrastructure’. The details can be seen here: HE_Infrastructure

This seems to follow the same approach that the previous ‘Updates’ have taken and seems to be particularly ‘thin’ in terms of content but appears to tick all the boxes in terms of people’s concerns related to the provision of infrastructure needed by such a large development.

Interestingly, although Homes England are pointing out that they are an arm of Government (a ‘masterdeveloper’) with access to government resources they say that the are ‘working with’  health providers, ‘engaging with’ education providers and utility companies but that they cannot guarantee infrastructure provision ‘upfront’. Well what a surprise!

We have worked hard at CBC with government in our attempts to get new surgeries and schools over recent years but have had very poor experience in return for our efforts. So we need to address existing needs before any new development provision is added on top. Not a good precedent on which to base Homes England’s promises.

Again, we have to wait for more detail.
