Save West of Ifield campaign’s latest newsletter has been published. See all the latest information related to the activities going on that are hoping to stop Homes England’s development proposals for 10,000 new homes right next to Crawley’s western boundaries.

The campaign is now seeking to spread the message about the impact on Crawley more widely especially as people start to recognise that if this development goes through the joining together of Crawley and Horsham into Crawsham draws ever nearer. Literally!

Here is the latest message from Campaign Chair Fenella Maitland-Smith:

‘Thank you very much to everyone who’s supported us over the last few months at festivals and fayres, quizzes and Bingo.  We’ve certainly enjoyed ourselves raising much-needed funds!   The events continue, including a 10k sponsored walk across the 10k houses site, on 28th August. Details of how to sign-up to follow.  Our quizzes at the Plough Rusper are now a fixture, usually with at least 7 teams.  And prizes!  Next quiz is this Tuesday 19th July.  Details in the attached newsletter.

We’re busy doing the research and drafting of responses to Horsham DC’s Local Plan, and an Outline Planning Application from Homes England, both of which are expected in the autumn, water neutrality permitting.  There’s plenty to do, and we’d be very happy to hear from anyone willing to help, in any way technical or otherwise. Could  anyone help with project management?  Or PR?  With selling items on ebay to raise funds?

I hope you enjoy the July newsletter.  Your feedback and ideas always welcome.

With many thanks

Fenella’
