Well it seemed like it would never finish but Crawley’s Eastern Gateway Project has now completed. This multi-million pound CBC collaboration with WSCC and the Coast 2 Capital LEP has delivered on time and to budget. The whole eastern quarter of Crawley Town centre has seen upgraded paving, upgraded traffic lights, (all of which are pedestrian and cycle friendly and default to ‘green’ wherever possible) and new cycle paths mostly separating pedestrians from cyclists. These paths run along the Boulevard and College road linking to Southgate Avenue, Haslett Avenue and Northgate Avenue paths.

Further projects in progress include a CBC led scheme to complete the upgrades to the paths at the western end of the Boulevard and a future Growth programme project to upgrade the paths along Station way between the Train and Bus stations to/from Southgate Avenue.
