Investing in local green technology projects is a direct pathway to job creation and economic stimulus. Renewable energy installations, energy-efficient infrastructure, and sustainable practices generate employment opportunities, creating a ripple effect that positively impacts the local and national economy. Supporting green technology at the local level and embracing renewable sources such as solar, wind, and hydro power reduces our dependence on traditional energy sources, enhancing overall energy security and resilience.

Successful local green technology projects are aligned with Labour’s Green Investment agenda and help to bring skilled jobs and opportunities to Crawley’s workforce.

Supporting the green technology sector at the local level is not just a practical strategy, it’s a necessity for Crawley’s aim to achieve sustainable development and more technical jobs for Crawley residents. The synergy between local initiatives and Labour’s national strategies create a powerful force for positive change.

The first recipient of the Crawley Greentech Business Growth Fund has been announced. Naked Energy Ltd, a solar thermal manufacturer based in Manor Royal, will receive £39,708 to support product development for its industrial and commercial solar heat and photovoltaic products.

‘Providing our local businesses an opportunity to access finance for green technology development is part of the council’s overall strategy to support the growth of the innovation hub for green technology in the region. ‘
