Neil Hughes will be standing for election in Maidenbower ward in 2019.

Although originally from NW London, Neil has lived in Crawley for nearly 30 years, half that time in Three Bridges and the remainder in Maidenbower.

Neil retired in 2017 after spending 40 years working for the Bank of England and the Financial Services Authority, both quasi public sector institutions working for the good of the country.  As a generalist Neil worked in different areas but became an expert in budgeting and was the Bank’s Senior Gilts Trader.  The last 15 years were spent in financial intelligence where Neil managed teams fighting financial crime, such as insider dealing, pension scams and mortgage fraud.

Neil has always taken a keen interest in politics and now has the time to be able to devote his full attention to sticking up for the underdog, which is the vast majority of us!  Neil is a strong believer in fairness and equality of opportunity and that these values are fundamental Labour traits, both national and locally.
