Imran was elected for Labour in Langley Green & Tushmore at the May 2023 elections.

I have lived and worked in Crawley since 2008. I love the town and our local community and have raised my family here. I am a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant and run my own accountancy practice. Before starting my own business in 2008 I was working as senior audit manager for one of the top accountancy practice. 

I have been actively working in the community for the last 13 years. My kids went to a local primary school and during all those years I served as a School Governor and contributed positively for improvement of education standards. I served as a Chairman and treasurer of Crawley Islamic Centre & Mosque for over 6 years. During that period we worked closely with the police, local council and other local communities for community cohesion. I also served as a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants South East Panel where my job included liaising with other businesses and professional bodies to organise seminars and talks on professional standards and ethics. 

I decided to run for election as a councillor  because I believe now more than ever we need a strong local Labour team which will champion our communities. These are truly tough times as working people see the services they value and pay for eroded by ever more severe and serious Tory cuts. All around us we see the impact – our local police stations closing, cuts to our community safety, our Sure Start Centres at risk of closure and schools and libraries having their budgets slashed. I believe my background in finance and business and my experience of community work puts me in an ideal position to serve the wider community. Given the opportunity I’ll do my absolute best to represent all residents of Crawley
